How not to fail at connecting game and art

Contemporary game industry and art industry seem like a weird departed twin. On the one hand, both thrive on individual or/and collective creativity, and invite audience/players to participate and enrich the content and experience. On the other hand, while video games try to reach as many players as possible, contemporary art is still trying to maintain some kind of scarcity via market price, taste and institutional cannons. To make a game or curate an exhibition transpassing both fields therefore becomes its own art. In this talk, I want to use my own recent trips in producing, promoting and exhibiting Forgetter to showcase some experiences and dilemmas in connecting game and art.
